Educate - Train - Prepare

I served as a Police K-9 handler with the State of North Carolina from 2015 until being promoted in January of 2024. During that time, I handled 3 single purpose detection K-9s. In 2018, I took over the K-9 training duties at my agency. In addition to being the trainer, I now serve as the K-9 supervisor.  My first K-9 partner, a Dutch Shepherd named Rayne, taught me a great deal; and with her, my passion for handling and training dogs began. 

Since the early stages of my K-9 career, I have had the privilege to train under the tutelage of my friend and mentor, Ken Mathias. Ken is an internationally known dog trainer who has been training and importing Police K-9s since the 1980's. I have had the pleasure to assist with instruction and training in several Police

 K-9 handler schools and have trained or assisted in the training of numerous Police K-9s in various disciplines. 

Through JB Canine LLC, I offer personalized private dog training lessons alongside immersive board and train programs. The mission of JB Canine LLC extends past simply training dogs; I am dedicated to empowering owners with the knowledge and skills for a lasting positive change.
